On October 4, 1971, a Resale Shop was opened with proceeds benefiting the programs of Little Friends-Sheltered Workshop, as it was called at the time. Customers and donors entered a &#8220;Name the Shop Contest&#8221; and Serendipity was chosen. Meaning &#8220;the ability of finding valuable things unexpectedly'&#8221;, Serendipity has been just that for our agency&#8211;bringing us generous volunteers, donors, and support for 50 years!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/eml-pusa01.app.blackbaud.net\/intv2\/j\/9F82123D-D0EA-4A46-9B92-3D53F952F14A\/r\/9F82123D-D0EA-4A46-9B92-3D53F952F14A_e0929e07-36e3-4499-9169-79bbc9c2d5ad\/l\/F05F6C61-AC85-470D-8B27-041660C26789\/c\" target=\"_blank\">Stop by the shop<\/a>\u00a0at Route 59 and 75th Street on\u00a0<strong>Saturday, November 13 from 10am-5pm<\/strong>\u00a0as we ring in our 50th year with holiday cheer.
